Selected procedures aim to improve fluid drainage and lower eye pressure. Some may be considered alongside cataract surgery. The approach depends on your glaucoma, anatomy, and the procedure’s suitability.

Start with a consultationGlaucoma is a group of diseases that can damage the optic nerve. Early disease may have no noticeable symptoms, which makes examinations and follow-up important.
Lowering eye pressure can help reduce the risk of further damage. It cannot reverse vision already lost to glaucoma.

Selective laser trabeculoplasty treats the eye’s drainage tissue to help lower pressure in suitable eyes with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The effect varies and continued monitoring is needed.
A biodegradable bimatoprost implant placed inside the eye to lower pressure in open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Because of the risk of corneal cell loss, treatment is limited to a single implant per eye and should not be repeated in an eye previously given DURYSTA. Corneal health, eye anatomy, and treatment history are important in determining suitability.
A travoprost implant placed during an intraocular procedure to lower pressure in open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It is one option to discuss when considering how treatment fits your eyes and your daily routine.
Procedures can cause inflammation, pressure changes, infection, or other complications. Medication implants also have specific risks, including loss of corneal cells, and precautions involving eye anatomy and previous procedures.
